iShot® XBlock® HD-SDI MA130 Interface Board for the Sony FCB-MA130 Camera Series

The SMPTE HD-SDI MA130 interface allows robust transmission of high definition 720p and 1080p video over long distances using standard 75ohm coaxial cable. With the iShot® HD-SDI MA130 and the Sony FCB-Micro cameras (FCB-MA130, FCB-MA132,  FCB-MA133) high definition video can be transmitted from highly constrained spaces, to be used in professional A/V systems.

iShot XBlock HD-SDI Interface Board for the Sony FCB-MA130 Series of CamerasThe iShot® HD-SDI MA130 implements a SMPTE 292M HD-SDI interface, providing SMPTE 296M (720p30) and SMPTE 274M (1080p30) video streaming options.

A unique feature of the iShot® HD-SDI MA130 is the control of FCB-Micro modules over the VISCA protocol, facilitating integration of the module in systems and applications interoperable with Sony’s FCB block camera modules. The VISCA protocol operates over a standard RS-232 interface, which can be reconfigured to RS-485 for long distance control.

The iShot® HD-SDI MA130 includes nonvolatile storage allowing persistent storage of camera parameters. The default setup provides 1080p30 video streaming with the FCB-Micro cameras (FCB-MA130, FCB-MA132,  FCB-MA133) connected directly out of the box. The control serial link can operate as RS-232 or RS-485, selectable via on-board DIP switches.

The iShot® HD-SDI MA130 interfaces with the FCB-Micro’s parallel CMOS interface or the MIPI CSI-2 interface. YCbCr 4:2:2 data or MIPI CSI-2 data is transferred over a 45 pin, 0.5mm pitch FFC/FPC cable. External 5V power is sufficient to power both the camera module and the iShot®HD-SDI MA130, removing the need for a separate power supply. All of the required voltage regulators required to power the FCB-MA130, FCB-MA132 or  FCB-MA133 camera modules are integrated.

InterTest® Inc. Announces the HD USB 3.0 Interface Board and iShot® XBlock® Indoor HD USB 3.0 POV Camera with Integrated Sony FCB-MA130 Camera – Featuring the OneView Driver, Now Available for LINUX

Functions unique to the FCB-MA130 camera series are also provided via extension controls and direct read and write access to the camera registers.  Developed and supported for Ubuntu, OneView for LINUX uses the V4L2 (Video for Linux 2) driver.  A LINUX solution is important for certain OEM customers, allowing them to produce a solution without buying an operating system.

In the World Series Starting Line up, DIRTCAM, A Specialty HD POV Camera Custom Engineered for Inertia Unlimited

Intertia Unlimited and InterTest will debut one of the smallest HD POV cameras (point of view camera) to hit the broadcast sports circuit… and what better a venue than the 2014 World Series.  DirtCam will capture the action at home plate and first base by providing a unique perspective, a worm’s eye view, to the fans watching from home. The modified Sony FCB-H11 camera is located in front of home plate, at the edge of the grass and dirt, capturing the player up to bat and in foul territory next to first base.

The HD POV camera’s pedestal, with a minimum profile view port at ground level, measures only 0.155 inches (3.9mm) from the base surface. The overall HD POV camera view port measures 0.14 x 0.14 inches (3.5 x 3.5 mm) and is enclosed in a rugged, waterproof housing.  This HD POV camera uses a remarkable lens system that provided a wide field HD image through a 3 mm prism.

USB 3.0 Interface

The iShot® XBlock® USB 3.0 interface board has been specifically designed to work with Sony’s FCB-MA130 camera. Enabling all features on this exceptional camera to be utilized over USB 3.0.

The small size of the FCB-MA130 is a major advantage in many applications and the USB 3.0 interface has been designed to complement, allowing a very small total solution. It also takes its power from the USB host computer allowing single cable operation.

The iShot® XBlock® USB 3.0 interface board connects to the FCB-MA130 via an FCC cable. It connects to the CMOS parallel interface and the I2C control lines. The FPGA on board convert’s commands received via USB, to the appropriate I2C protocol commands on the camera.

A DMA channel on the FPGA is used to read the data and send it to the USB3.0 channel.

The hardware also adds the appropriate UVC header allowing easy interfacing on the host PC. Standard UVC controls are implemented and other functions can be handled via extended commands that implement register access.

All resolutions and frame rates supported by the camera including still images can be streamed via USB3.0. Including 1080p @ 30fps.

Host or OTG operation modes are currently not supported. the host computer must run a UVC capable operationg systems (e.g. Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows 8). iShot® XBlock® 3G-SDI POV Camera with integrated Sony FCB-EV7500.

The iShot® XBlock® 3GSDI Camera with integrated Sony FCB-EV7500 block camera is equipped with a bright zoom lens with 30× optical zoom and F1.6 aperture (optical zoom + digital zoom = 360×).

Low-noise images can be obtained even in low-light environments using the Noise Reduction function.

The Sony FCB-EV7500 block camera’s video signals can be output as digital and analog Y/Pb/Pr outputs. Depending on register settings, you can select from a variety of digital output methods: 1080p/59.94, 1080p/50, 1080p/29.97, 1080p/25, 1080i/59.94, 1080i/50, 720p/59.94, 720p/50, 720p/29.97, 720p/25.

An infrared (IR) Cut-Filter can be disengaged from the image path for increased sensitivity in low light environments. The ICR will automatically engage depending on the ambient light, allowing the Sony FCB-EV7500 block camera to be effective in day/night environment.

VISCA is a communications protocol, which enables the FCB-EV7500 to be controlled remotely from a host computer/controller. VISCA is trademark of Sony Corporation.

Six memory locations are provided to temporally save and recall up to sixteen sets of camera settings.
