iShot® 7mm Micro Camera for Industrial Custom Integrations – QN43H

The iShot 7mm micro camera with 7mm outer diameter camera head was designed for easy integration into custom systems or used as a standalone camera. Small size and various adaptable mainboards enable the EM-QN43H 7mm micro camera to be used in a wide range of applications.

The iShot 7mm micro camera is capable of gathering high quality video in low light conditions including wet, submersible, hazardous, high-temperature, radiation and EMI-prone environments. Intertest offers a series of system components designed specifically for the QN43H micro cameras. The components available accomplish sophisticated tasks beyond the range of traditional camera accessories.

Cabling is available in PVC or Teflon® in lengths of 3.5M or 15M. The Teflon® cable option operates in environments up to 550F (290C).

The iShot 7mm micro camera is fully compatible with the Toshiba IK-CU44A CCU and the Elmo CC431E CCU. The iShot 7mm Micro camera head replaces the ELMO QN42H and the Toshiba IK-SM43H.

iShot® Full HD Micro Camera System with 12mm Camera Head

The iShot® Full HD Micro Camera System is a compact, Full HD 12mm diameter camera head on a 3 or 5-meter cable, lens and camera control unit perfect for monitoring and inspection needs. This versatile system delivers up to 1080i/30fps HD resolution on any HDMI monitor. The easy-to-use camera control unit gives the user zoom, shutter speed, white balance, gain and exposure manual control as well as offering automatic control settings. The system is powered through a USB port or a wall AC Adaptor.

The Full HD micro camera head is 12mm in diameter (.500”) with a 1/3” CMOS sensor and comes with 4 options of lenses: 3.1mm, 6mm, 16mm, or 30mm focal length. Lenses have manual aperture control and are easily interchangeable.

Introducing the Visible Welding® WeldWatch®.EDU Weld Camera Demonstration and Tutoring Station – Perfect Welding Techniques with Video Record and Play Back

InterTest® Inc. introduces the Visible Welding® WeldWatch®.EDU Weld Camera Demonstration and Tutoring Station: a 1-on-1 and group welding instructional tool using a state-of-the-art camera system and software. It can be difficult to teach welding techniques because of the nature of the welding process: the intense and bright arc, the base metal’s position and the students’ blocked line of sight may hinder efficient and effective learning. The WeldWatch.EDU demo and tutoring station helps overcome these obstacles by showing the weld clearly, safely and conveniently on a monitor for 1-on-1 and group welding instruction.

Learning welding technique requires students to witness live demonstrations, but more importantly, to weld metal themselves and receive critique on their practice welds. The WeldWatch.EDU Weld Camera demo and tutoring station lets the students to see the instructor’s techniques up on a large classroom display. Mark Prosser of Full-Bore Publishing says “being able to make a tiny little weld puddle become the size of a basketball on the big screen is an amazing teaching tool.” After a clear demonstration, students are free to practice these techniques on their own, in their booths or at the WeldWatch.EDU Weld Camera tutoring station.

During the student’s weld, the instructor can watch the image on-screen and offer real-time coaching, for example, “slow down” or “your arc is getting long”.

How is the WeldWatch.EDU Weld Camera demo and tutoring station able to capture such useful and clear images of the bright arc weld? It uses the Visible Welding WeldWatch® Ultra Dynamic Range Zoom Camera System for live viewing of various arc welding processes. A welding arc can be a million times brighter than the base and filler metals. The camera’s 140 dB ultra-dynamic range (UDR) of over 10,000,000 : 1 combined with software digital signal processing creates an evenly lit image that clearly shows the torch tip and surrounding metal.

The WeldWatch.EDU Tutoring includes the VAmpWatch™ volt and current sensor. The VAmpWatch is fully integrated within the Visible Welding WeldWatch software. This measures the volts and amps 1000 times per second and sends the data to a graph on the Visible Welding WeldWatch software. Volt and amp data plays back synchronized with the recorded video on the screen of the included Microsoft Surface™ Pro 4 tablet or on an optional big-screen monitor.

The iShot® XBlock® 3GSDI Camera with integrated Sony FCB-EV7500 block camera is equipped with a bright zoom lens with 30× optical zoom and F1.6 aperture (optical zoom + digital zoom = 360×).

Low-noise images can be obtained even in low-light environments using the Noise Reduction function.

The Sony FCB-EV7500 block camera’s video signals can be output as digital and analog Y/Pb/Pr outputs. Depending on register settings, you can select from a variety of digital output methods: 1080p/59.94, 1080p/50, 1080p/29.97, 1080p/25, 1080i/59.94, 1080i/50, 720p/59.94, 720p/50, 720p/29.97, 720p/25.

Digital Output (Y/Cb/Cr 4:2:2):

Ideally suited for low vision applications, new color enhancement options can make reading text and pictures less challenging. Available options include monochrome, binary, inverted and enhanced color modes,

Auto Wide-D Mode:

The new Sony FCB-EH6500 camera monitors the luminance differences within an image in high contrast environments and automatically switches on and off the Wide-D feature according to the contrasted lighting environment. In addition, it is possible to select three levels of luminance differences (low/mid/high).

Barrel Inspection Camera System for Liquid Container’s Concealed Interior

Challenge:  The customer came to us with a specific request to inspect the enclosed interior of 55 Gallon Drums used for mixing fluids.  After the drums have been used they require complete barrel inspection to ensure the interior is free of residue as well as check the integrity of the welded joints. Click Here to see the iShot® Handi Wand
handi wand suspended from ceiling for inspectionThe surface area is relatively large for an inspection with a small area for entrance into the drum. (1-1/4″)  In the past, the customer used video probes, however, increased the length of the inspection considerably due to the smaller field of view as well as lack of light intensity.  The other drawback was in using a video probe, the likelihood of damaging the equipment was increased because they are not robust and are very expensive to repair.

Solution:  The barrel inspection solution was to modify our iShot Handi-wand and ruggedized the connector, so it was able to completely inspect the interior of the dark beverage drum. The customer wanted to keep the tool hanging from the ceiling so it was accessible inline for their process, we incorporated a retractable ceiling mount to obtain easy access to the camera wand.  The monitors are attached to the wall making the Handi-Wand a convenient barrel inspection system that was almost native to there facility, as opposed to a piece of equipment that had to be locked away every evening.  Our engineers altered the shape of our product’s wand section in such a way that the head of the unit could look back on its own handle.  This was necessary so that once the unit went into the drum for inspection it was able to look at the underside of the entrance portal. Along with doing this our engineers changed the camera head of the unit to the OWL camera to increase the light sensitivity due to the dark interior of the beverage drum.

Results:  Our customer is still using the product and has been successful.  The customer has saved nearly 30,000 dollars on every system they have purchased and have been able to continue to do there inspections faster and with less damage than in the past.

Remote Visual Inspection Core Technologies

Core Technologies Within the discipline of RVI, InterTest specializes in video and optical inspection under white, ultraviolet and infrared light. RVI tools allow users to see flaws in hidden and hazardous places off limits to the naked eye. InterTest manufactures an extensive line of Remote Visual Inspection equipment, from borescopes and light sources to robotic camera integrations and custom engineered designs – built to answer customer specific applications. InterTest’s trained technicians also perform application consulting and field service. Within the discipline of NDT, InterTest specializes in ultrasonic, eddy current, fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection. Ultrasonic technology is used to find internal flaws in metal and composites, and also to measure thickness. Eddy current testing identifies surface flaws on conductive ferrous and non-ferrous parts, and can be used to sort alloys and heat treat condition. Penetrate and magnetic particle inspection techniques identify surface flaws with fluorescing particles that are drawn, by capillary action or magnetization, to flaws. InterTest sells solutions based on all the above technologies, but also performs the system integration and automation required to make them viable and effective in specialized applications.
